Opening Eyes to Substance Use Disorder
Many states across the country have been dealing with a major public health problem: prescription drug misuse. We were ready to turn the story around. Maine needed a change. It was time for everyone to come at this epidemic with eyes open and face it head on. In collaboration with the Maine CDC, Rinck was instrumental in developing and educational campaign informing Mainers on the warning signs of substance use disorder.
Don’t turn a blind eye.
Ultimately, the factors of access and availability of prescription drugs, coupled with the emergence of heroin and fentanyl, contributed to a record number of overdose deaths in 2017. Our messaging focuses on making people aware of the warning signs, storing medications safely, medication misuse, and tips for youth and parents around prescription drugs.
