Saying Goodbye to 2016
2016, what a year. We’re well over a month in and there’s still no shortage of “me vs. 2016” memes in our newsfeeds. Although we’re embracing 2017 with open arms, we can’t help but stop and think about all of the great things that happened in the last year, especially in advertising.
We feel so fortunate to work in an industry that continues to break the mold. It’s exhilarating to know that it can all change at the drop of a hat. Maybelline inspired us with their first Coverboy, BBDO made us cry with this chilling PSA and Taylor Swift & Apple made us laugh our asses off. We had our fair share of Super Bowl ads, Olympic Ads (see: Michael Phelps is back) and Political ads. Instagram got jealous of Snapchat and launched stories. Facebook pissed a bunch of people off with various updates and Twitter became our biggest source of discomfort during election season. Through all of the ups and down, it was exciting to be alive.
Although we were excited to see changes and innovations in our industry, we were even more excited to see changes within Rinck! We have a lot to report from 2016, but here are a few highlights we just had to share:
- 4 New Hires
- 5 New Accounts
- 11 Websites Created
- 16 Awards Won
- 37 Total Clients
- 520 Bagels Eaten
- 589 Projects Completed
- 5,200 Cups of Coffee Consumed
And while we were all hopped up on caffeine, we created some pretty amazing campaigns that we’re super proud of. Take a look a just a few of the projects we completed in 2016:
Media Campaign: Mommy Lingo
Think you know your BFN from BFP? Ever meet a SAHM or WOHM you didn’t like? You’re probably asking yourself “what does that mean?” That’s the point! This was one of our all time favorite campaigns. We are fortunate enough to work with clients who let us have fun, and this was no exception. The Mommy Lingo campaign was an unbranded campaign for on our newest clients, Vitafol – a prescription prenatal vitamin. For this campaign we created a microsite which hosted a Mommy Lingo quiz where you could test your acronym knowledge. With the help of paid search, paid social, influencers, and native advertising we achieved an 86% completion rate.
PR: Influencer, Hannah Hart
Another one of our newest clients, Colman’s Mustard really wanted to make a splash into the US market. With millennial shoppers in mind, we set out to find the perfect influencer partner and we found that in My Drunk Kitchen’s Hannah Hart. We worked with Hannah to create 2 Colman’s recipe videos that she shared with her 2.5 million YouTube followers. Her content garnered over 1.5 million social media engagement for the brand.
Traditional: University of Southern Maine- Find Yourself Here TV Commercial
The University of Southern Maine's Find Yourself Here campaign defined the University as the University of Everyone. This subtle distinction of describing the University of Southern Maine in this capacity allows USM to differentiate from their competitors. The University continues to position themselves as a welcoming environment for all students, while meeting the needs of each individual. As USM continues the momentum forward the campaign becomes student-centric and focuses on their key messages.
Stay tuned for bigger and better things in 2017!
