Internet Everywhere

Here. Now.

Internet Everywhere

The scope of the Internet explosion is remarkable. The last 10 years (since roughly 1998,) marks an historical period in media. Today, some blogs have larger readership in two years than Time Magazine gained in over 100 years of publishing.

Yet the Internet lagged in a critical area – portability. Unlike a newspaper or magazine, the Internet stayed at home, or at best, became a 7-pound laptop compromise.

That’s changed rapidly in 2008.

The iPhone and Blackberry Storm bring the Internet to your hand in an elegant, simple form. Using the built-in Web browser permits relatively fast access to most information.

Applications make the devices more useful and more specialized. The most popular applications have become games, but many apps offer a glimpse at the future. Downloadable coupons based on location, product comparisons based on bar codes and microblog apps (such as the Twitter phone applications) have the potential to revolutionize consumer control of your brand through instantaneous message and access.

Internet Everywhere. It’s here, now. Smart brands need to address the options, opportunities and take control.
